“Thank you for ten years of music, love, friendship, and boundless learning. I can honestly say I don’t know who I’d be today without it.”

Madison Youth Choirs Alumni Network

Connecting the alumni of Madison Boychoir, Madison Children’s Choir, and Madison Youth Choirs.

  • Sing: We invite all alumni and alumni parents of Madison Boychoir, Madison Children’s Choir and Madison Youth Choirs to join current Cantabile/Ragazzi members and residents of Capitol Lakes Retirement Community in our celebrated Intergenerational Choir for our Spring 2020 session. Combined rehearsals will be held on March 25, April 2, April 7, and April 15, 2020 from 6-7pm in preparation for a public concert on Friday, April 17 at 7pm. All activities held at Capitol Lakes, 333 W. Main St. Madison. Sign up here if you’re interested in joining us and see our Community Programs page for more info.
  • Volunteer: From guiding students and teachers at the Madison Boychoir Festival to ushering at our concerts to lending your photography or IT skills, we would love to put the talents of our alumni to good use.
  • Advocate: Establishing strong community-wide support for music, dance, and theater education will be essential for maintaining Madison’s tradition of outstanding youth arts opportunities in the years to come. You can play a major role in helping us tell powerful stories about the impact of arts education by sharing your experiences in the form below or by e-mailing us.
  • Support: As state and federal funding for arts education becomes more uncertain, community support of our programs will be more important than ever in fueling the meaningful and innovative music education initiatives that MYC provides for all young people, regardless of their financial circumstances. You can join forces with the incredible alumni donors who make our programs possible through an online contribution to MYC.

Interested in any of the above opportunities or have a story or update to share? Sign-up for our alumni network mailing list using the form below.

MYC statement regarding COVID-19

As we shared with our singers’ families on March 12, in the interest of contributing to a healthier outcome for our entire community, especially the most vulnerable among us, MYC will be suspending all rehearsals until mid April. We will continue to send the Weekly Notes each Thursday with updates and we hope that rehearsals will resume April 19/20. We are working on a plan for conductors and singers to stay engaged with each other and with the music we’re studying.

We want you to know that we make this decision not from a place of fear or panic, but from a place of sincere desire to do everything within our power to be part of the solution in slowing the spread of COVID-19. Above all, we want you to know that we consider rehearsal time with our singers to be the highlight of our week and we will miss it in a profound way that speaks to the power of the work we do together. Even though we won’t be together physically, the shared experiences of exploring music and ideas we’ve had together this semester will undoubtedly be a balm for all of us in these extraordinary weeks ahead. Let’s continue to support one another with hopeful empathy, courage, and resilience as we navigate the days ahead.
